UPCOMING/CURRENT EXHIBITION
I Feel Sick is a series of new sculptures by Allysha Farmer, that examine what happens when you decide to bottle up anxiety and isolate yourself instead of sharing and connecting with others.Using a combination of wax and ceramics, Farmer creates abstract sculptures with rough textures rendering bodily organs that are in distress and wax forms that turn into lumps and folds to represent the tangled feelings of doom. These sculptures portray feelings of anxiety and impending doom building up in the pit of your stomach.By turning feelings of anxiety and impending doom into physical objects we see how these emotions can manifest and we are forced to confront these feelings of persistent dread instead of bottling it up. We learn by confronting and sharing these experiences with anxiety it can become freeing and cathartic.
